Having access to a variety of colleges in the community allows our students to find courses, majors, and degrees in a wide range of interests. For students who join us mid-semester, there are also numerous online courses and local professional development courses perfect for easing a student into college study.

Mansfield Hall- Burlington helps students with learning disabilities such as ADHD, Asperger’s and ASD develop independent living skills in our integrated, high-quality residence “all under one roof” in the center of Burlington. We have two buildings that are different in design and each suitable to starting or continuing a college career. One is a multi-unit apartment building and the other is dormitory style living. Each residence has capacity for 19 students. Our living and learning communities are less than a block apart and are steps away from our local colleges, situated in the heart of Burlington. Once students have demonstrated the capacity for more independence, students are able to transition to our “Connections” program where students live on the campus of their school and receive scaled services from Mansfield Hall.

Burlington, Vermont is a neighborly and responsive community that always looks out for one another. Thus, there are numerous organizations and agencies dedicated to helping the community, through various social, civic, and environmental causes. Students have the opportunity to explore and contribute to agencies such as, King Street Center, Green Mountain Club, COTS, Waterwheel Foundation, Boys and Girls Club, ECHO Aquarium, and many more.

Given the bountiful array of recreational opportunities in Vermont, we work to link students’ interests with the available activities. Whether this is sailing on Lake Champlain, skiing or riding at one of the many nearby world-class ski resorts, visiting the local skate park, or hiking to the top of Mount Mansfield, we are confident each student will find a way to be fully engaged. Additionally, given the vast number of local colleges just steps away, there are endless on- and off-campus opportunities, such as UVM Sports, Vermont Lake Monsters minor league baseball, concerts and events at the Flynn Center and Higher Ground, and the list goes on.
