Students often say that when it comes to Burlington, it was love at first sight. Burlington is one of America’s most beautiful and liveliest small cities (population: 40,000), and it charms with its proximity to Vermont’s idyllic countryside. Burlington is minutes away from numerous world class ski and snowboard resorts, beautiful hiking, and endless recreational opportunities.

Learning- Explore Our Local Colleges

BMansfield Hall | College for Students with Disabilitiesurlington is host to some of the finest colleges in New England, such as the University of Vermont, St. Michael’s College, Champlain College, the Community College of Vermont, New England Culinary Institute, Vermont Technical College, and Burlington College. Having access to a variety of colleges in the community allows our students to find courses, majors, and degrees in a wide range of interests. Students may attend one, or a combination of, colleges throughout their time with Mansfield Hall. For students who join us mid-semester, there are also numerous online courses and local professional development courses perfect for easing a student into college study.

Living

Mansfield Hall- Burlington helps students develop independent living skills in our Mansfield Hall | College for Students with Disabilitiesintegrated, high-quality residence “all under one roof” in the center of Burlington. We have two buildings that are different in design and each suitable to starting or continuing a college career. One is a multi-unit apartment building and the other is dormitory style living. Each residence has capacity for 19 students. Our living and learning communities are less than a block apart and are steps away from our local colleges, situated in the heart of Burlington. Once students have demonstrated the capacity for more independence, students are able to transition to our “Connections” program where students live on the campus of their school and receive scaled services from Mansfield Hall.

Giving

Burlington, Vermont is a neighborly and responsive community that always looks out for one another. Thus, there are numerous organizations and agencies dedicated to helping the community, through various social, civic, and environmental causes. Students have the opportunity to explore and contribute to agencies such as, King Street Center, Green Mountain Club, COTS, Waterwheel Foundation, Boys and Girls Club, ECHO Aquarium, and many more.

Engaging

Given the bountiful array of recreational opportunities in Vermont, we work to link students’ interests with the available activities. Whether this is sailing on Lake Champlain, skiing or riding at one of the many nearby world-class ski resorts, visiting the local skate park, or hiking to the top of Mount Mansfield, we are confident each student will find a way to be fully engaged. Additionally, given the vast number of local colleges just steps away, there are endless on- and off-campus opportunities, such as UVM Sports, Vermont Lake Monsters minor league baseball, concerts and events at the Flynn Center and Higher Ground, and the list goes on.

The Hall

Located in the historic district of Burlington and in close proximity to downtown and many college campuses, Mansfield Hall has two locations within 1/2 block from each other. One features 10 apartments and a common area for residents, the other 15 dormitory-style style rooms with several common spaces, our dining facilities, and a grand library.
