Marla grew up on Long Island and attended college in the small city of Binghamton, New York where she studied Human Development and Gender Studies. After an experience abroad which inspired her to live on a farm in rural New Hampshire, she fell in love with the community culture and pace of life in New England. With the expectations of “mountains,” “no traffic” and “progressive,” Burlington was the perfect place to move after the 2017 farming season ended. Marla has found her niche among the eclectic dance communities and the wide array of outdoor recreation opportunities that Vermont has to offer. Prior to working at Mansfield Hall, Marla was an intensive autism interventionist and has worked in 1:1 and group settings involving children and young adults who require specialized assistance to expand their abilities and independent living skills.
