Starting her Mansfield Hall experience as a fellow, Shira graduated from the University of Vermont in 2018 with a B.S. in Communication Sciences and Disorders and a minor in Special Education. She also received her Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages Certification, which was useful during her time as an au pair in Spain. She is now working towards her Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology at UVM, with an interest in social communication. She is currently in an interprofessional education grant as an OSEP Scholar, working and learning alongside early childhood educators for students with disabilities in hopes to one day work in early intervention and diagnostics.Shira is an avid explorer and lover of all things outdoors, especially rock climbing. Vermont has been her home for the past four years and fell in love instantly with the community, culture, and nature. You can find her biking and camping in the summer, cross-country skiing and snowboarding in the winter, collecting flowers in the spring, and jumping in leaf piles in the fall.
