Located in the heart of the University District, within a few blocks of the Lake Champlain waterfront park, the bustling Church Street pedestrian mall, and the city’s colleges and university. Students often say that when it comes to Burlington, it was love at first sight. Burlington is one of America’s most beautiful and liveliest small cities (population: 40,000), and it charms with its proximity to Vermont’s idyllic countryside. Burlington is minutes away from numerous world class ski and snowboard resorts, beautiful hiking, and endless recreational opportunities.

Explore Our Local Colleges
Burlington is host to some of the finest colleges in New England, including the University of Vermont (UVM), St. Michael’s College, Champlain College, and the Community College of Vermont.
Having access to a variety of colleges in the community (in walking distance or a short bus ride) allows our students to find courses, majors, and degrees in a wide range of interests. Students may attend just one school, or even choose a combination of colleges throughout their time with Mansfield Hall.
Each of the colleges we work with offers student the opportunity to begin their coursework as a non-matriculated student, so even if a student does not formally apply to one of the colleges they can still make the Mansfield Hall decision and start out taking real college courses, for credit (transferable in or out), right from the start.

Living: Adulting 101
Mansfield Hall-Burlington helps students with learning disabilities such as ADHD, Asperger’s and ASD develop independent living skills in our integrated, high-quality residence. Our centralized service delivery model includes student housing, study spaces, a student cafe, staff offices, and hang-out spaces all under one room, around the kitchen table, and in the context of an active and supportive living and learning community. We are steps away from our local colleges, and situated in the heart of Burlington’s undergraduate housing district, right next to our thriving downtown. Students live in well-appointed apartments with peers in a safe, secure, and supportive setting.
Learning: Academic Support

Giving: Community Service
Burlington, Vermont is a neighborly and responsive community that always looks out for one another. Thus, there are numerous organizations and agencies dedicated to helping the community, through various social, civic, and environmental causes. Students have the opportunity to explore and contribute to agencies such as, King Street Center, Green Mountain Club, COTS, Waterwheel Foundation, Boys and Girls Club, ECHO Aquarium, and many more.
Engaging: Social Connections
Given the bountiful array of recreational opportunities in Vermont, we work to link students’ interests with the available activities. Whether this is sailing on Lake Champlain, skiing or riding at one of the many nearby world-class ski resorts, visiting the local skate park, or hiking to the top of Mount Mansfield, we are confident each student will find a way to be fully engaged. Additionally, given the vast number of local colleges just steps away, there are endless on- and off-campus opportunities, such as UVM Sports, Vermont Lake Monsters minor league baseball, concerts and events at the Flynn Center and Higher Ground, and the list goes on.

This week at Mansfield Hall, Madison student Cory created a hand-drawn coloring book for a fundraising initiative; each creature is based off of the delicious recipes inside, (available for adoption) Madison Cat Project cat Leila tried to find a new purr-spective on shelter life, and our Dominion League dominated in Burlington.
