Explore Our Local Colleges

Burlington is host to some of the finest colleges in New England, including the University of Vermont (UVM), St. Michael’s College, Champlain College, and the Community College of Vermont. Having access to a variety of colleges in the community allows students to find courses, majors, and degrees in a wide range of interests. Students may attend just one school, or even choose a combination of colleges throughout their time with Mansfield Hall.  Each of the colleges we work with offers student the opportunity to begin their coursework as either an enrolled student (usually on a reduced course load) or as a non-matriculated student, so even if you do not formally apply to one of the colleges you can still make the Mansfield Hall decision – and start out taking real college courses, for credit, right from the start.

In addition to access to local colleges our Academic Team provides extensive executive functioning, writing, and study skill support. We work closely with the Office of Student Services to make sure you get the accommodations you need, and we work closely with you to make sure you meet your academic goals.

Hear From Burlington Students:

“Mansfield Hall provides me with the confidence to try new things, because I know I’ve got a team supporting me every step of the way.”

“I always knew I wanted to go away to college, and even through I’m really smart in school I was also really worried about having to do so many new things at once, all by myself. With Mansfield Hall I’ve always got someone to check in with when I don’t know how to do something, and I’ve learned how to be a successful college student.”

“I feel like Burlington is the kind of place where I can be myself. It is really nice to be able to be in a community that values diversity, and where I’m encouraged to be myself.”

“My idea of going away to college by myself was that it was going to be the place I could reinvent myself, where professors would be fascinating, where I’d have the motivation to always do my work, and where making friends would come easily. The reality is that I spent my first year in my dorm room alone, overwhelmed, and lonely and I really struggled academically. I just didn’t know how to organize my school work or my life, and I was miserable.

It wasn’t until I came to Burlington that I finally found the college experience I’d been looking for all along – friends, fun things to do, people to study with, people who understood me and didn’t judge me, people to help when I needed it.

I’ve learned that I can be successful, that asking for help is normal, and that having a community of friends makes even hard things easier. This has been the best decision I’ve ever made for myself. Thanks Mansfield Hall!”
