Explore Our Local Colleges
Eugene offers amazing colleges and universities to choose from, including the University of Oregon, Bushnell University, and Lane Community College.
Having access to a variety of colleges in the community allows our students to find courses, majors, and degrees in their specific area of interest. Students may attend one, or a combination of, colleges throughout their time with Mansfield Hall; and many of these colleges offer access to courses as a non-matriculated student. This means that students do not need to formally apply to, or be accepted into, any local college in order to start out taking real college classes, for real college credit. Our staff can help find the right fit to achieve each student’s education goals. While enrolled in any of these wonderful colleges and universities, our academic experts at Mansfield Hall work closely with the students and the colleges to make sure appropriate accommodations are offered and individualized academic and executive functioning support is provided. Our goal is to help each of our students with learning disabilities become an independent learner and obtain the degree of their choice.
Living: Adulting 101
Going away to college is exciting, and it can also be overwhelming to consider managing not only college-level academics but also becoming a young adult. Our team is here to help you feel comfortable in making your next steps to independence. Whether it is learning how to build a budget, find an apartment, or learning how to cook your favorite meal, working with your Independent Life Skills Coach is a fast-track to skills and confidence.
Learning: Academic Support
Classes in college are really different than high school – but with the right support you can do this! Our expert academic team helps with staying organized, college-level writing, breaking down big assignments into digestible chunks, and helping you build the skills and confidence you need to pursue your academic dreams.
Giving: Community Service
We know you have something valuable to offer the world, and we want to help you find ways to share your gifts and talents with others. Burlington, Vermont, is a neighborly and responsive community that always looks out for one another. Thus, there are numerous organizations and agencies dedicated to helping the community through various social, civic, and environmental causes. Students have the opportunity to explore and contribute to agencies such as King Street Center, Green Mountain Club, COTS, Waterwheel Foundation, ECHO Aquarium, the YMCA, and many more.
Engaging: Social Connections
College is about more than just classes, homework, and living away from home – it is also about connecting with others and being a part of a social community. Mansfield Hall provides you with a ready-made social environment, complete with regular afternoon, evening, and weekend activities designed to support your goal of being or becoming socially connected with peers. And given the vast number of local colleges just steps away, there are endless on- and off-campus social opportunities, and all the support and guidance you need to make the move to college not only academically successful, but socially successful, as well.
Hear From Madison Students:
“”Madison always has something amazing going on – no matter what you are into, it’s probably in Madison.”
“I was worried about going away from home for college, but Madison is such an amazing city and I’m loving living here. Exploring on my bike is one of my favorite things to do when I’m done studying.”
“I’m going to Madison College and I still get to hang out on the UW campus. The Rathskellar (UW Student Union) is actually my favorite place to study in the winter, and The Union Terrace is the coolest place in town when it’s warm and sunny!”
“Madison has something like 50,000 college students who live here – which means that no matter what I’m interested in exploring I’m going to find someone else who has similar interests, and even if they aren’t a part of Mansfield Hall I can still connect with them because I live right in town, with everyone else.”
“I thought that being really smart in high school meant that college would be easy. Instead, I realized that I hadn’t developed any study skills, and college turned out to be really difficult. Mansfield Hall has helped me get back on track, learn how to actually study effectively, and build up my GPA.”

Masking is a hotly debated topic at the moment. Some professionals have differing opinions, but our stance is that while a more inclusive world is something we can all be working towards, there`s a time and a place for the ways we show up, and knowing how to differentiate has value.
