Frequently Asked Questions

Marjorie Corbman, Ph.D.

ASSOCIATE SITE DIRECTOR, ACADEMICS

Marjorie is a passionate educator and community-builder who views the work at Mansfield Hall as a unique opportunity to bridge her background in higher education with her previous work in direct services and community organizing. Before joining the Mansfield Hall community in 2022, Marjorie was teaching in the Department of Theology & Religious Studies at Molloy College (now Molloy University) in New York. She received her BA in Religious Studies (with a concentration in Asian Studies) from the College of the Holy Cross, her MA in the Study of Religions from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) at the University of London, and her PhD in Theology from Fordham University. She lived and worked at Su Casa, a house of hospitality for unhoused, Spanish-speaking families in the Chicago area, from 2009 to 2011, and was a JOIN for Justice Jewish Organizing Fellow from 2012 to 2013, working with the New England Jewish Labor Committee, an organization supporting labor rights. As Associate Site Director of Academics at Mansfield Hall, Marjorie loves working with students to explore college as a path that will support them in pursuing their own passions, goals, and searches for meaning. In her time outside work, Marjorie enjoys reading, hiking, swimming, and exploring the beautiful state of Vermont with her wife and their silly senior dachshund.

Congrats to our two new Mansfield Hall Burlington student ambassadors!

Each year first year students apply and interview to become ambassadors. These students are leaders within the community, responsible for creating experiences through program development, and serve a spokespeople for the broader student community.

When asked what they were most looking forward to, this is what they had to say:

"I'm excited to help with the community meetings and activities" - Alex

"I'm most excited to be a bigger part of the community and connect better- and maybe plan more skiing trips this winter!" - John
We're so lucky to have an incredible team of staff across our three locations, and we want to highlight them!

Starting with Naomi, one of our Madison based Academic Directors.
