Frequently Asked Questions

Michelle Rinebold

ACADEMIC DIRECTOR, BURLINGTON

Although not originally from Vermont, Michelle fell in love with the Green Mountains throughout her childhood and moved to Burlington in 2008 to attend the University of Vermont. She completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology, pursing this field due to her desire to better understand of the complexities of human behavior, motivation, values, and interpersonal dynamics, and to engage in a career path that supports and empowers individuals holistically. Michelle brings over a decade of human services experience to Mansfield Hall, from a multitude of roles at Howard Center Developmental Services, including Case Manager, Direct Service Provider, On-call Responder, Residential Assistant (RA) for neurodiverse college students, and co-chair of the Disability Employee Affinity Network. In each position, Michelle was dedicated to fostering inclusive environments and empowering diverse learners with developing self-advocacy skills, creating social connections, building confidence, and exploring the supports needed to flourish.  Just prior to joining Mansfield Hall, Michelle took a year off to travel and immerse herself in various cultures around the world, enhancing her appreciation for cultural diversity and community connections. In her free time, Michelle loves spending time in nature, and is always up for camping, hiking, kayaking, foraging, or just relaxing under the sun and the trees!

Mansfield Hall had the joy of hosting some professionals at our Madison, WI location recently, which included a student panel.

One of the questions asked was: What do you like about Mansfield Hall?

The answer: how inclusive it is.

No one gets to choose the brain they have, but we do get to choose the world we create. We choose to accept, celebrate, and work toward a world that’s more inclusive of every brain and the incredible things they can do.

Happy World Autism Awareness Day. We see you, and we celebrate you for all that you are and all that you can be!
